Sinai Advocacy Team

BE INFORMED. Sign-up to Join Chicago Sinai’s newly established Advocacy Team.
As part of our deep commitment to Social Action, Social Justice, and Advocacy at Chicago Sinai, we are announcing the formation of the Sinai Advocacy Team. The goals of the Sinai Advocacy Team are:

Provide Chicago Sinai a “larger voice” and a more positive impact on social issues of importance that align with our Jewish values.

To enable more Sinai members, many of whom may not have the time to work on some of our direct community service projects, an opportunity to get involved and support Sinai’s overall social action, social justice and advocacy work.

What issues will the Advocacy Team be active in?
The issues Sinai is already active in will be shared with the Advocacy Team:

Refugee and Immigrant Rights
Criminal Justice Reform
Reducing Gun Violence
Protecting our Environment
Mental Health Access

If I elect to join the Team, what happens?
By deciding to join the team you will be connected to a network of other members on an email list.  You will periodically receive our Sinai Advocacy Newsletter. These will inform you of advocacy opportunities that Sinai supports and will provide you information on how, when, where to take action if you choose to do so.

If I sign up to become a member of the Advocacy Team, am I expected to take action on all of the opportunities that are communicated in the newsletter?
No, that will be up to you.  While of course we hope that team members do choose to take action on some of these opportunities, the decision on whether to take action on any one is a personal one. By joining the team you will be able to make an informed decision on whether or not you want to add your voice and take action to a given issue.

If you have more questions, please email Rabbi Zinn
